F*ck James Blunt up his lilly-white a**
Blunt goes back on his word, screws the nicest guy in music.

That's it. You can hijack our airplanes and crash them into skyscrapers. You can start a "War on Terror" using false info. You can send a generation of mainly lower-class kids off to a war/peacekeeping effort they're not trained to do. You can have Big Business controlling our Government, you can poison the environment, you can deny an entire generation healthcare, and you can create disposable pop music such as James Blunt has.

...but you do not mess with Weird Al, dammit!

Download You're Pitiful, tell James Blunt to grow a backbone and the record industry to get tossed.

Wow, that is insane. I'd never heard of James Blunt before but he is a giant douche in my book now.

He was a Giant Douche before this in my book, by that's neither here nor there... ;-)

I'm glad he's fighting this PR-wise, but it's pushed the album release back and his tour until next summer.

Blunt and Atlantic truly screwed him with this, and I'm not a happy camper about it. Grrr...

Actually, it says that James Blunt was perfectly fine with the song. It was his label, Atlantic Records, who fucked things up for everybody. Now the album's delayed and the tour has been postponed until next summer.

Yeah, but Blunt also isn't exactly sticking to his word to Al in regards to having to no problem with the parody, nor is he putting his foot down as the artist to what his label is doing. Sorry, but that's a major pet peeve of mine as well as something I'd never do both as a professional musician and as as a simple person.

My jihad stands. ;-)

http://www.myspace.com/ianperge, although I mainly use it as a musician-for-hire site and rarely blog there - I have a "goodbye" post written that I need to (and will) post in the next day or so.

Times change. So do people, and while it's described in that post in far greater detail, I've found I don't need LJ as a venting space after leaving the hellhole that was Kentucky and moving to an area that I'm actually very happy living in. However, my e-mail is always open for a good conversation and please feel free to drop me a line. I'm leaving LiveJournal, but certainly not the friends I've made here. :-)

cathleen.j.obrien@wmich.edu is my new email (the longest e-mail addy ever, I didn't pick it lol). I'd love hear from you and I'll miss your entries.

Much belated thanks - I got some great presents, but the following takes the cake:

Yup, it's the "dream bass" I've craved and discussed for many years, a Mike Lull Modern 5. eBay is a wonderful place, as I was able to pick it up at over 50% below the new price with only 2 miniscule "dings" that can't be seen past three inches - unfortunately for high-end instrument manufactures, at this level they're so rare and custom that resale value drops a ton on the used market, which is the only reason we could afford it.

It's representative of the reasons I've been MIA from LiveJournal for a long while, and will be posting a "goodbye" message within the next few days - between things like that, the "new" ability" to finally start demoing my own musical material, and other reasons I'll be going into detail about, Real Life has become a much better place to spend my time compared to my "Kentucky Days", and I've found that I don't need a place to vent nearly as much as during that time period. But I'll still always be up for a nice e-mail conversation, so please feel free to drop me a line whenever you feel like. I'm leaving the place, but hopefully not the friends. :-)
